INNOVATION 3-D: Dream, Dare, Deal
Innovation is about CREATING unique and never-before-experienced
situations. In the marketplace, innovation is taking risks and creating
something new for the consumer by challenging yourself, those around
you, and the current standards. It is increasing quality in products,
processes and services by considering all possibilities. It takes being
fearless, focused, and open to fantastic opportunities. Good
improvisers do ALL of this.
Improvisation focuses on bringing your personal awareness "into the
moment," and developing understanding for the action at hand.
This fusion of "awareness" and "understanding" allows you to act with a
range of options that best fit any given situation, even if you’ve
never experienced similar circumstances. Improvisation is about being
brave enough to put the pieces of the world together in new and
unorthodox ways. It’s thinking in completely open ways and saying yes
to the ideas generated. It creates building blocks and lays the
foundation for the ideas that will ultimately be most successful,
though they may not seem it initially. Being a good improviser is
imperative to any “creation situation.”
