PHILOSOPHY:
Trust, focus, proactive listening, confidence, awareness, and making the other person look good. These are the tools that ComedySportz performers use onstage to make people laugh. These are the same tools used offstage to succeed as a business.
As evidenced by CSz’s success and the popularity of shows like “Whose Line Is It Anyway?,” audiences marvel at the quick thinking and creative skills of improvisational performers working together onstage. Yet those same people easily overlook the improvisation that takes place in their everyday lives.
STRUCTURE:
Participants are up-on-their-feet and interacting through improv games. The exercises are neither strenuous nor exhausting. There is NO role-playing and we DON’T do skits.
Participants do NOT need a background in theatre or acting, NOR even an interest in performing. We simply use a creatively involved approach to learning, giving them a very funny and memorable experience laughing and playing. And in the process, we provide empowering applications to their day-to-day lives.
Standard training lasts either 3.5 or 6.5 hours, includes 3 instructors and is capped with a brief improv show (by us, not your folks), including a musician. (This is a great chance for everyone to sit back and simply watch, with a new set of eyes and the ability to recognize the skills at work...and it feels like a reward!)
